KICC is the most renowned and historic iconic building of Nairobi, In 1972 , Kenya became the first developing country to host a UN headquarters meeting at KICC after intense diplomatic debate and thereafter UNEP, as it became to be known, had its first headquarters in the KICC.

KICC was officially opened on the 11th September 1973 by the founding president of Kenya, HE Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the same month saw KICC host its first major International conference, the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank Group and the IMF.

KICC has since become an icon and landmark for Nairobi and a major source of pride for Kenyans.

National Museum of Kenya (NMK) is a state corporation established by an Act of Parliament, the Museums and Heritage Act 2006.

NMK is a multi-disciplinary institution whose role is to collect, preserve, study, document and present Kenya’s past and present cultural and natural heritage.

The history of NMK dates back in 1910 when a museum was established in Nairobi by the then East Africa and Uganda Natural History Society [currently the East African Natural History Society (EANHS)].

The Karen Blixen Museum one of Kenya’s monumental store houses of heritage and history is located 10 km outside of Nairobi, Kenya, “at the foot of the Ngong Hills”.

The museum is the former African home of Danish author Karen Blixen, who is reknown for the 1937 book β€˜Out of Africa’ which chronicles her life in Kenya.

The Giraffe Centre is located approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the Nairobi Central Business District in Kenya. The Giraffe Centre was established to protect the endangered giraffe, that is only found in the grasslands of East Africa.

The Giraffe Centre was officially opened in 1983 as a tourist destination just outside Nairobi. Currently , the centre attracts millions of day visitors including foreign tourists, students and Kenyan citizens.
